Zoe Tzanis is a PhD student in the Communication Department at the University of Pittsburgh and a research assistant for CTRL. Their research focuses primarily on how sport, media, and politics intersect, with specific focus on how identity, labor and relationships are constructed in digital spaces. They are particularly interested in exploring the lived realities of athletes, fans, and mediators as they take place in platform environments and make use of self-tracking and other surveillance technologies. Outside of their research, Zoe is an avid women’s sports fan, an endurance sports enthusiast, and a voracious reader.
